Mixed reality (MR) is the merging of real and virtual worlds to produce new environments and visualizations, where physical and digital objects co-exist and interact in real time. - Wikipedia
In my work I tried to use available technology to produce simple MR scenes and test different concepts of how we could use this technology at the moment.
To realize my visions I used a variety of tools. Beginning with the HMD (head mounted display), which is a Lenovo Mirage Solo based on Google's Daydream platform. This HMD was released in 2018 and was unfortunately not really successful. Google eventually decided to no longer develop the Daydream ecosystem, therefore cancelling support.
Yet all resources to Daydream are still online and the SDKs are still usable in Unity 2018/partly 2019.
Used to create, texturize and optimize most of the assets.
As the game engine, Unity is the heart of every app I make.
An SDK created by Google which contains all the XR related scripts.
Contains a library of useful examples and prefabs to use with Unity.
